Up till now, using WhatsApp web on desktops or laptops or any other devices requires a phone powered on and connected to the internet. But a new beta test is ongoing to discover the support for multiple devices without the need of a phone in the process.
In an interview held in June, WhatsApp head Will Cathcart and his boss and Facebook’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg commented on the scientific challenge of maintaining the end-to-end encryption of the chats.
The encrypted organization or synchronization also applies to other features like message history, contact names, and message data, and keys maintained on the individual devices. The beta will test a limited group of testers who are already in the team of WhatsApp beta program, while the team has said that it is working on improving its performance and adding up more new features to it.Will Cathcart also tweeted on July 14, Wednesday, regarding the same project, and said that the company has been working on it for a long time and they are finally going to implement it soon.
