The PlayStation Plus Subscribers do not like the Free Game

Sony announced the free PS Plus games that PlayStation Plus subscribers on PS4 and PS5 would receive in December 2021 yesterday. December’s schedule contains two PS4 games and one PS5 game, as it does most months. Godfall, or more particularly, Godfall: Challenger Edition, is the latter, a poor PS5 launch game that would disappoint PS Plus users even if there was no funny behaviour involved. However, there is some amusement to be had.

The fact that it isn’t the full version of the game adds insult to injury. In other words, PS Plus customers will receive two titles and an incomplete third game for the month of December, and they aren’t thrilled about it. “The Challenger Edition focuses on three new modes: Lightbringer, Dreamstones, and the Ascended Tower of Trials,” according to the PlayStation Blog. The “Godfall and Fire & Darkness campaigns” are not included in this list.

“That Godfall edition is very scumbag on many levels,” one PlayStation fan remarked. It’s basically a trial version of the game that provides you endgame levels and treasure when you actually buy the upgrade to play the original campaign it’ll be too easy. Disgusting. It’s like a free trial of Godfall now that Plus offers free demos? Another fan was added.

The PlayStation Plus version of Godfall is essentially a trial version that cuts straight to the end. There will be no campaign. Oh my goodness, A third PlayStation enthusiast has been added. At the time of publication, none of the parties involved have offered an explanation for the decision or addressed the anger it has sparked. This appears unlikely to change at this time, but if it does, we’ll be sure to update the storey.
