Rise in Hospitalizations and Deaths amidst Delta Variant Infection

As per the trusted sources of information, the top infectious disease experts state that the spread of the dominant COVID-19 variant delta virus is major across the unvaccinated areas of the country, which is causing the flare-ups in the number of cases of infected people and hence increase the Hospitalizations among individuals.

There is a rise in the number of cases across the country once again as the highly transmissible variant is taking hold as the dominant strain in the United States. As per the average number of cases per day, the seven-day average of the United States has reached 23,300 cases per day, which is almost double the average from what it was in the previous week, as shown by the data given by Johns Hopkins University.

The physicians and the health officials are hoping that the high rate of vaccinations among the aged population is likely to keep people from being hospitalized, which has caused a decline in the cases over the past few weeks before rising. But that has not materialized till now as per the doctors from the Infectious Diseases Society of America.

Chief of pediatric infectious diseases at the University of Utah School of Medicine, Dr. Andrew T Pavia, stated that the number of deaths and Hospitalizations of the people lags, so they are expected to continue to worsen, especially over the next two or three weeks. Dr. Jay Butler stated that after a few weeks of decline in the number of cases, they have begun to rise again.
