The Oregon Health Authorities reported 284 new confirmed and presumptive cases of coronavirus on Monday, along with two new coronavirus related deaths. Health officials say the total number of cases in Oregon is up to 198,972 since the pandemic began, and the state’s death toll is now 2,624.
The Oregon Health Authorities said Monday the seven-day running average for vaccinations was now 30,339 doses per day. They also reported2,108,628 first and second doses of Pfizer,1,541,986 first and second doses of Moderna and 133,763 single doses of Johnson & Johnson
This comes as Governor Kate Brown announced new coronavirus rules in Oregon’s counties at the lower risk level. The new guidance by the Health Authority would allow for businesses, venues, and faith institutions located in counties in the lower risk category to have areas specifically for vaccinated people.
These areas for vaccinated people would not need to adhere to physical distancing or capacity limits. However, businesses, venues, and faith institutions can still require mask-wearing in vaccinated sections. Oregon officials say the unvaccinated sections must follow all health and safety protocols. People must wear masks and maintain physical distance.
