OnePlus Launches Oxygen OS 12 beta for Phones

OnePlus is rolling out the first open Oxygen OS 12 beta. Volunteers can install the software on their phones without needing to sign up for the closed beta program. The first open beta is only available for the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro.

OnePlus phones will see open beta programs start at later dates. The next device would be the OnePlus 8 series but the newest Nord phone will be launched first.  Volunteers interested need to download the beta software and manually upgrade it. It doesn’t require a factory reset of your device.

Before you run off to install it, this is the beta software and it will have loads of bugs and problems. Users who value stability and use the phone as a daily driver must skip the Oxygen OS 12 beta. Installing the beta doesn’t require a factory reset, but downgrading back to the stable version of Oxygen OS 11 would.

OnePlus says as well that the following devices will get the Android 12 update in the future: OnePlus 8, OnePlus 9R 5G, OnePlus 8 Pro, OnePlus 8T, OnePlus 7 Pro, OnePlus 7, OnePlus 7T, OnePlus 7T Pro, Nord 2 5G, Nord 1, and the Nord CE 5G. It also comes with Work-Life Balance 2.0 which includes features that are now available in all regions. There’s now support for switching between Life Mode and Work Mode based on the time of day, Wi-Fi network, or location.
